NC Folk Festival

The North Carolina Folk Festival celebrates music, dance, food, crafts, and folk arts from North Carolina and around the world. It is a free, all-ages event held in downtown Greensboro, spanning multiple stages and venues, including LeBauer Park and the Greensboro Children’s Museum ncfolkfestival.comncfolkfestival.com+2. The festival emphasizes cultural diversity, community engagement, and family-friendly programming.

The Festival of Lights

The Festival of Lights in Greensboro is a long‑running holiday celebration held annually in downtown Greensboro, featuring over 70,000 blinking Christmas lights, light shows, exhibitions, and festive entertainment. Festival of Lights has been a staple of the city’s holiday season for more than 30–40 years, drawing both locals and visitors.

Steven Tanger Center

For the Performing Arts

A $94 million, state-of-the-art facility that has transformed downtown Greensboro, the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts is home to touring Broadway productions, concerts, Greensboro Symphony Orchestra performances, comedy shows, and all types of family entertainment. Since its grand opening in 2021, the Tanger Center has hosted more than 1.4 million guests. Presented with partners Nederlander and Professional Facilities Management (PFM), the First Bank Broadway Series is one of the nation’s top-selling one-week Broadway series. The 3,000-seat venue is managed by the staff of Steven Tanger Center

Downtown Greenway


Greensboro has been nationally recognized for its Downtown Greenway, a 4-mile walking and biking trail that loops around downtown and features public art, connected urban neighborhoods, and pocket parks. A collaborative project between the City and Action Greensboro, the Greenway officially opened on May 16, 2026 after the final section of the loop was completed.
